So with her 5 boys and 2 girls they would go walking across town each week to the meetings, and eventhough her husband was opposing at this time, she did what she could to inculcate in her children a love for Jehovah.

"Hermana Chayo", as she was affectionitly known there lived in Valle Hermoso from 1956 until 2004 when she moved to Donna where she started attending one of the local congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses.

In 1976 wile still living in Mexico, she learned to drive at the age of 50, and so she was able to help many others take part in witnessing to outlying areas around Valle Hermoso. In this way she helped spread the "good news" to places like "El Moquetito, El Soldadito and other areas around there.

Her hospitality brought her much happiness when she was able to offer lodging to various traveling representatives of the Watchtower Society.
