Maria Cristina Salcido Cantu, 76, daughter of Mercedes Castro and Rafael Lopez, passed away peacefully on Saturday 19, 2017. Born on Mercedes, TX. on a Thursday of June 19, 1941. She dedicated several years of her life to Edinburg School district and later retired. Maria is survived by 3 sons; Juan Garcia (Velma Garcia), Gonzalo Garcia, Rafael Garcia (Janie Garcia), and 3 daughters; Janie Rodriguez (Joe Rodriguez), Frances Garcia, Mayela West (Gene Forney), also 8 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and 5 sisters; Mayela Guajardo, Lydia Morales, Lucy Belmonte, Marta Lopez, and Norma Lopez. She will forever be missed dearly.
