Obituary
Avelino S. Villarreal, 88, entered into eternal rest surrounded by his family on November 5, 2020. He was born on December 19, 1931 in Encino, Texas to Jose M. and Natividad S. Villarreal. Avelino was a certified T.V. and Radio Technician and worked as a Manager for Lull Water Supply in Edinburg, Texas. He and his wife, Alicia, were married for 59 years.
Avelino was a very cheerful, caring, loving and compassionate man, who enjoyed spending time with his family, working on his yard, watching the Dallas Cowboys and playing the accordion. On holidays and special occasions, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends at the ranch in Encino.
He is survived by his sons, Avelino Jr. (Irma), Randy (Maribel), Roel and Jacob Villarreal. Daughters, Rosa V. Mitchell (James) and Mary Lou V. Reyna (Steve), 17 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren, a sister, Tina V. Pena and sisters-in-law, Socorro R. Villarreal and Juanita Villarreal and numerous nieces and nephews.
Avelino is preceded in death by his wife, Alicia, parents and in-laws, brothers, Leonel, Gene, Octavio, Jose Maria Jr., Ruben and Raul Villarreal. Sisters, Tomasita V. Bayarena and Teresita V. Andrade.
Visitation will be on Monday, November 9th from 3-9pm, followed by a Holy Rosary at 7pm at Vaughan Funeral Home, 812 E. Cano, Edinburg, Texas.
Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, November 10th at 10am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 215 N. 16th Street, Edinburg, Texas. Burial services will follow at the Antonio Villarreal Cemetery in Encino, Texas.
