Memorial Tribute

Ynes Escobedo Santoy, daughter of Costancia Casarez and Justo Escobedo, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 1, 2017.   She was born on April 21st, 1925 in Kyle, Texas and was a longtime Donna resident.

Ynes was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.  She took delight in spending quality time with her family and friends.  Because she loved to cook, she always greeted company with food, especially with her tortillas or “Pan loco”.  She also enjoyed sewing and crocheting items, such as handmade Christmas gifts that her family will forever cherish.

Her pride and joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she valued precious time with them.

She was a member of St Joseph's Church and the Guadalupana Ministry  in Donna and served the church for many years.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Aurelio G. Santoy, and granddaughter, Michelle Morales.

She is survived by her daughters: Antonia Maheshwari (Vijay), Carlotta Perez (Jose), Mercedes Morales (Juan), Eustolia Warne (+William), Elena Santoy (John), Costancia Nava (Juan), Corina Santoy (Rolando), Mariel Stucker (Terry), and son Aurelio Santoy Jr. (Marta). 12 grandchildren:  Robert Maheshwari, Marco Antonio Perez (Kristy), Christopher Warne (Tara), Aida Belmarez (Ricardo), Elizabeth Daily (Terry), Juan Aurelio Nava (Linda), Stephen Warne, Rita Santoy, Samantha Santoy, Juan Angel Nava and Zoey Stucker. 8 great grandchildren: Michelle Belmarez, Liliana Belmarez, Austin Santoy, Olivia Warne, Michael Perez, Matthew Perez, Pax Daily, and Clark Molina.

She will be missed by her many friends and relatives.  

The family would like to thank Dr. Jose F. Pena for his dedicated care.

Visitation will be at Vaughan Funeral Home in Donna on Sunday, December 3rd from 5 to 8 pm with a Rosary at 7 pm. A funeral mass with be celebrated at 10 am on Monday, December 4th at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Donna with graveside services to follow at the St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Alamo, Texas.
